We are seeking an Engineering Innovation Operations Manager. The Engineering Innovation Operations Manager will report to the Assistant Dean of Pre-Collegiate Programs in the Whiting School of Engineering’s Office of Graduate Education and Lifelong Learning (GELL). The Operations Manager will assist with the implementation and growth of Engineering Innovation online college-level programs (currently Explore Engineering Innovation and Biomedical Engineering Innovation). We are seeking an Academic Program Manager who will report to the Assistant Dean of Pre-Collegiate Programs and is responsible for maintaining existing and developing new programs for high school students, program evaluation, identifying and training seasonal teaching staff, and assisting with program operations. EEI Instructors should be comfortable with a wide range of engineering topics and be able to relate the curriculum to high school students. EEI TFs understand, appreciate, and apply an instructional style that emphasizes the process of problem-solving rather than memorizing material. The object is to engage students by getting them to think and participate rather than being lectured to. Each EEI class has a broad range of 16-24 students with diverse backgrounds and Instructors must be prepared to accommodate a multitude of learning styles. Finally, the Teaching Fellow must be able to engage, encourage and excite the students.

BMEI – Online Instructors should be comfortable with a wide range of biomedical engineering topics and be able to relate the curriculum to high school students. Biomedical Engineering Teaching Assistants must have completed their first year of an engineering degree and demonstrate knowledge of the content covered in BMEI.  Teaching Assistants works with the BMEI Instructor to respond to student questions and monitor and respond to student questions posed in the online discussion board and via email. Graders ensure that BMEI students receive their graded work promptly.
