Engineering Innovation students will have access to the JHU Sheridan Libraries ’ online resources throughout the program. In addition, students may use the Ohlone College library for on-site study and research. Please note that borrowing privileges at Ohlone are limited to students officially registered at the college, and the library operates with reduced hours during the summer. We recommend checking their website for current hours before visiting.
Hopkins Engineering Innovation commuter programs help you prepare for college through a four-week on campus experience in various locations across the US, including Ohlone College in Fremont, CA! Join fellow STEM-loving students from across the country and around the globe to preview life as a real engineering undergrad!

You will be in class from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily with a 45- to 60-minute break for lunch. Class on Friday is online.
Academics
Explore Engineering Innovation (EEI) classroom is located in Building 1 on the Fremont Campus.
- EEI classes will be held in Classroom 1317 (Building 1, Level 3).

Your instructors receive JHU faculty appointments to teach your course. They typically have a PhD and teach college-level courses. Local high school teachers, university graduate students, and former EEI students also assist with the classes serving as teaching fellows and teaching assistants.
Your class will have between 18 and 24 students, with whom you will work closely in teams of up to four to complete engineering projects. Each course has a 12:1 or fewer student-teacher ratio.

Student Life

There will be about an hour for lunch each day. Students are not to leave campus for lunch. Students can eat in the informal study area in Building 1, level 2, tables located outside building 1, and in the Ohlone Café located in building 5. Summer Hours for the Online Café are Monday – Thursday from 9:00 a.m. -1:30 p.m. Ohlone Café is located in building 5.
