FAQs – Financial Information

  • Please see the Cost – BMEI and Cost- EEI pages for tuition and program fees. A limited number of need-based scholarships are available.

International students who plan to attend in-person will need to submit financial certification documents as part of the I-20 process.

  • Unfortunately, the application fee is non-refundable.
  • If you qualify for an application fee waiver (i.e. participate in a free/ reduced lunch program, qualify for a test fee waiver from the College Board, etc.), please have your high school counselor submit a statement verifying your income status and stating the need for a fee waiver. Once approved, the EI office will provide you with the application fee waiver information.
  • A limited number of scholarships are available to applicants with demonstrated financial need.

While completing the online application, once you indicate your intention to apply for financial aid, a link to the financial aid application will appear. Complete this portion of the application and upload a copy of your family’s current 1040 tax form or other appropriate documents, along with other requested materials, such as W-2’s.

Your financial aid award, if any, will be included in your decision letter.

  • Award amounts are determined by many variables, including family finances and availability of funds. Not all financial aid applicants may be eligible for or receive a scholarship. Engineering Innovation staff cannot predict how much aid a student may be offered.

Eligibility is based on current funds available for scholarships and the financial status of the applicant.

Engineering Innovation is a financially self-sustaining program of the Johns Hopkins University (JHU) Whiting School of Engineering (WSE).  Thanks to the support of our sponsors, we can offer limited, need-based, financial assistance.  Neither JHU nor WSE underwrite any program costs.

  • Unfortunately, we are not able to provide financial assistance to students interested in participating in a residential program.
  • No, we offer need-based scholarships only.  Applicants must provide copies of their parents’/guardians’ US 1040 as part of the process.
