An outside vendor ships lab kits for all Engineering Innovation courses offered online. Please note that the lab kit fee covers the cost of the shipping within the contiguous United States. Additional charges will be applied to shipments beyond the contiguous United States; these charges can be up to $500. Please click here to see shipping costs for summer 2021 as a guide.
Students outside the United States are also responsible for taxes, tariffs or duties that are charged by customs to clear the package in addition to international shipping fees.
Once a lab kit has been shipped by our vendor, we are not able to issue a refund. Please check your email for updates regarding shipping dates.

No Lab Fee refunds will be issued after the lab kits have been shipped by our supplier.
No refund will be granted to students suspended or dismissed for disciplinary reasons. The Engineering Innovation program reserves the right to dismiss a student whose academic standing or general conduct is considered unsatisfactory.
To withdraw from the program Engineering Innovation, our office must receive a written statement of withdrawal from the student’s parent or guardian. This notice can be emailed to [email protected] or mailed to our office.

The application for financial assistance is included as an option within the online application. Supporting documents, typically the parents’ W2s and 1040s, must be submitted either online during the application or emailed to [email protected].
Summer internship opportunity for Baltimore City Public School students
Students who attend Baltimore City Public Schools are eligible to apply to the Johns Hopkins Summer Jobs – YouthWorks Program. The YouthWorks application opens on January 17, 2022, and the deadline is February 18, 2022. Please visit our Johns Hopkins Summer Jobs Program Partnership page for more information.
The Johns Hopkins Tuition Remission Plan may be used to cover tuition fees only. Johns Hopkins University employees should contact Human Resources to determine whether they are eligible for the benefit and complete the Dependent Child Tuition Remission Benefit Application. Please submit an online form to SEAM.jhu.edu and upload the completed Tuition Remission Form to have it credited to the student’s account.
The Carroll County (MD) Benevolent & Protective Order of the Elks offers need- and merit-based grants for residents of Carroll County (MD) to attend Engineering Innovation. Applicants may be students of public or private schools in Carroll County or another school district.
The complete application (online application, application fee, teacher recommendation, financial documents, and official transcript) must be received by February 12, 2021, for consideration for this grant.
When completing the online application, please indicate that you are applying for financial aid on the Parent Student Agreement section of the application. Please follow these instructions to indicate that you would like to apply for this grant.
Students who attend Frederick County (MD) Public Schools and enroll as commuter students at the Hood College location will receive a scholarship to cover the $230 lunch fee.
