First Deadline – February 15, 2018

The first application deadline for Engineering Innovation is February 15, 2018.  Complete applications received by this deadline will be reviewed and decisions will be communicated by March 1, 2018.  For an application to be considered complete, it must be fully submitted and the Engineering Innovation office must have received student transcripts, the teacher recommendation, and financial assistance documents (if student is requesting assistance) by 5pm on February 15, 2018.

Spaghetti Bridge Competitions

The last week of Engineering Innovation, teams of three to four students build bridges from spaghetti and epoxy.

On the final day of the course, the teams compete to see which bridge will carry the heaviest load.  Below is information about the competition at each EI site.

California Sites

California Baptist University – Riverside, CA – 9:00 am – 12:00 pm on July 21st in Room 110 D of the Engineering Building.

California Lutheran University Campus – Thousand Oaks, CA – 1:00 pm on July 21st in D-Building, Room 8.

California State University, Fullerton – Fullerton, CA – 11:00 am – 1:00 pm on July 21st in Titan Student Union (TSU) Pavilion C

Cosumnes River College – Sacramento, CA – 10:00 am on July 21st in the WINN Center, Room 150

Pasadena City College – Pasadena, CA – 10:00 am on July 20th in Creveling Lounge (Building CC).

District of Columbia Site

The University of the District of Columbia – Washington, DC – 10:00 am on July 21st in Building 42, Room A09

Maryland Sites

Ohio Site

Clark State Community College – Springfield, OH – 10:15 am on July 21st in the Performing Arts Center – Kuss Auditorium

Pennsylvania Site

SciTech High School – Harrisburg, PA – 10:00 am on July 21st in the Lisa Waller Center at SciTech 

FINAL APPLICATION DEADLINE – 12 Noon EDT, Weds. June 7

The final day to submit an application for Engineering Innovation is Wednesday, June 7th.

To be considered for admission to EI this summer, the application, teacher recommendation, and financial assistance documents (if aid is requested) must be submitted to the Engineering Innovation office by 12 noon EDT, June 7, 2017.

University of the District of Columbia – No longer accepting applications

The University of the District of Columbia program for Engineering Innovation is fully enrolled.  We are no longer accepting applications to this site.  If you are looking for a commuting program in Maryland, please consider applying to the JHU Applied Physics Laboratory (Laurel, MD), the JHU-Montgomery County Campus (Rockville, MD), or the Hood College (Frederick, MD) commuting programs.

JHU Homewood Campus Commuting Program – No longer accepting applications

The JHU Homewood Commuting program for Engineering Innovation is fully enrolled.  We are no longer accepting applications to this site.  If you are looking for a commuting program in Maryland, please consider applying to the JHU Applied Physics Laboratory (Laurel, MD), the JHU-Montgomery County Campus (Rockville, MD), or the Hood College (Frederick, MD) commuting programs.

Loyola University of MD – No longer accepting applications

We are no longer accepting application for the Loyola University of MD program. Please consider applying to the JHU-APL program in Laurel, MD.

Homewood Commuter Program – Waitlist

We are now accepting students to a waitlist for the JHU Homewood commuting program in Baltimore. Please consider applying to the JHU-APL commuting program in Laurel, MD.

Full tuition scholarships at Clark State in Springfield, OH
