Application Review

Engineering Innovation only reviews completed applications. Your application is considered complete once we have received:

• Your online application and application fee
• 1 brief required essay, 1 brief optional essay
• Your teacher recommendation
• Your official high school transcript, including the most recent grades for classes that you are currently taking
• Proof of English Proficiency (required for applicants who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents)

We will notify you by email if any items are missing—please check your spam or junk folder if you haven’t heard from us.
It is your responsibility to ensure all materials are submitted by the relevant deadlines.

Deadlines and Decisions

☀️ Summer 2025 Application Deadlines

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and only completed applications are considered.
Tip: Spots are limited and tend to fill quickly, so we encourage you to apply early.
Most decisions are released within five weeks—or sooner.

International students participating in an in-person Engineering Innovation program must obtain an F-1 visa.
If you require an F-1 visa, please apply by the visa deadline to allow enough time for processing.
The F-1 visa process can be lengthy, and we want to ensure you have time to secure the necessary documents.
Visit the Johns Hopkins Office of International Services for more information about F-1 visa requirements.

If you live outside the contiguous United States and are applying to an online program, please apply by the Online Applicants Outside Contiguous U.S. deadline.
This ensures there’s enough time for your lab kit to arrive before the course begins.

Notification and Confirmation of Admission

How Will I Know If I’m Admitted?

If you applied by the Early Action deadline (February 14, 2025), decisions were released in the application portal on March 3.

All other completed applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
You will receive your admission decision through the application portal within five weeks of submitting a completed application.
