Engineering Innovation only reviews completed applications. Your application is considered complete once we have received:

  • Your online application and application fee
  • 1 brief required essay, 1 brief optional essay
  • Your teacher recommendation
  • Your official high school transcript, including the most recent grades for classes that you are currently taking
  • Proof of English Proficiency (required for applicants who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents)

We will notify you by email if any items are missing—please check your spam or junk folder if you haven’t heard from us.
It is your responsibility to ensure all materials are submitted by the relevant deadlines.

Visa Applicants:
Students attending an in-person program must obtain an F-1 visa and apply by the visa deadline to allow processing time. The process can be lengthy, and we want you to have plenty of time to secure the necessary documents. Learn more from the Johns Hopkins Office of International Services. 

Online Applicants Outside the Contiguous U.S.:
Please apply by this date to ensure your lab kit arrives on time. This helps you be fully ready to participate from day one.

Notification and Confirmation of Admission

How Will I Know If I’m Admitted?

If you apply by the Early Action deadline (Friday, January 30, 2026), you’ll receive your admissions decision in the application portal on Friday, February 13 by 7:00 p.m. ET.

All other completed applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
You’ll receive your admissions decision in the portal within five weeks of submitting a completed application.
