COVID-19 Updates

April 6, 2020

Biomedical Engineering Innovation – online:
We are currently accepting applications to our exciting, hands-on, and fully online course, Biomedical Engineering Innovation. This course will be offered at three different times this summer. Click here for more information.

Engineering Innovation – in-person:
Given the current COVID-19 situation, Johns Hopkins University has made the difficult decision to cancel all in-person classes through June 30th. Because of this, Engineering Innovation will not be offered this summer. This action was not taken lightly but was executed to ensure the health and safety of our students, staff, and their families. Students are encouraged to consider participating in Biomedical Engineering Innovation, a fully online course.

At this time, Johns Hopkins University is planning to offer Engineering Innovation at the locations listed on our website.  However, The Whiting School and Johns Hopkins University’s approach to the COVID-19 pandemic is guided by our commitment to the safety and security of our community, our constituents, and our visitors.  With that, we have determined it is prudent to cancel or postpone any events or activities, on or off campus, at this time.  Unfortunately, we cannot predict how long this will be in effect. If we are forced to cancel Engineering Innovation at JHU or another host institution, we will reimburse student tuition and fees associated with housing and dining.  We will not reimburse for travel expenses.  If you enroll in and pay to attend a program that is offered and find you are not able to attend, our standard refund policy applies.

Engineering Innovation continues to accept applications from non-US citizens and from US citizens living abroad.

If you have been accepted into Engineering Innovation and are not able to make a decision for any reason, please let us know and we can move you to our waitlist. You will remain on the waitlist until you contact us and request to be enrolled.  We will enroll you at that time if there is space in your requested location.

Please continue to visit this site for updates as the situation evolves.
